*Puella Magi Madoka Magica*
It has... MAGICAL GIRLS. That's right, this anime has MAGICAL GIRLS. In all seriousness, though, despite being a "mahou shoujo" anime, this was actually one of the better series' I've ever seen. It's a very deep, dark story that borders on severely messed up, and has several twists and turns throughout the series. I thought the ending was a little arbitrary, myself, but still pretty good considering.
There's a brief overview on my blog (spoiler-free), so feel free to give that a browse. As before, there should be a link below my avatar.

VERY GOOD!
That anime is very good and quite depressing! Right now Japan is really into it. I was telling Mitch the other day a maid cafe in Japan had a few days they were doing that anime as a theme and it was a hit.

Yes, it takes a little while to really get going, though. After the third episode is where it really takes off, in my opinion. Specifically after the events involving Mami.
Re: *Puella Magi Madoka Magica*
Shame. You could've gone with something like "Magica, Madoka, and Morning Rescue!" as a title.
Fantastic series, though I still think it's a shame that it didn't end at the tenth episode. Sure, the last few episodes tie everything together, but I think the way the tenth episode ends would've given the series an ending with a feeling similar to the rest of it. (By the way, any rules regarding spoilers? Kind of hard to express your opinions when you can't really say anything about the episode in general.)

It's more likely for someone random person to do a search on the internet and stumble upon these forums if the show in question is stated bluntly. Also makes it easier to find when there are more topics and you're looking for something that's not obscure.
Also, spoiler tags yo.

I was a bit skeptical when I heard the description, but was wonderfully surprised by the series. The visuals were great, and the soundtrack is one of the best anime STs ive heard in a long time.
To be honest...
I started staring at Shane about half way through the OP, as I didn't think that the series was worth watching. It's really amazing how fast the tone changes in the series. But yeah, the art style was really out there, and the music was so damned fitting.

At first, I was just kinda like "Eh." when I started watching it, but after the events in episode 3, I was hooked. Turned out to be a lot different of an anime than I expected, not your typical mahou shoujo.
